How to hire an AI development company in India without buying a demo
Most “AI agencies” show a chatbot that dies after the pitch. Here is how to tell a studio that ships RAG, NLP, and product work from one that rents an API.

Ask where the model lives in the product
If the answer is “we will add a chat bubble,” keep walking. A serious AI development company in India will ask which decision, ticket, or document the assistant is allowed to change — and where that already happens today: the website, the iOS app, WhatsApp, or an internal tool.

Ask what they will not do yet
The useful studios write the postponements. Fine-tuning waits on labelled data. Production retrieval waits on a corpus someone owns. Vision waits on a capture process that exists outside the lab.
If every answer is “yes, we can do that,” you are talking to a slide, not a delivery team.
What to send before the first call
The outcome you want to change, the data you already have, the channel, who operates it after launch, the date that actually matters, and a budget band. An NDA if the corpus is sensitive — we sign those before files move.
That is enough for us to say fit, first release, and whether discovery should be paid. You do not need a 200-page RFP.
